The begining

A Chinese philosopher once stated that a journey of 1000 miles begins with one step.  So this is how this blog will start, with this step.  My stated purpose is that together we will explore the culture of the time, and before that helped shape the writings of those that came into contact, and observed the unfolding of events of Jesus walk here on earth.  How did this culture affect the way the events and experiences were recorded?  How would understanding the culture and the nuances of words and phrases help deepen the experience we have when we study the Word of the Lord?  If you want to join me on this journey, please sign in and we will share experiences, insights, and thoughts.

I must admit that a lot of my information does come from the website hebrew4christians.com that is run by John Parsons.  His postings on the website are deep and knowledgable.  Please check this site out.  I am still struggling on learning the Hebrew script; but he does state that it takes practice.  The more words I read and write in Hebrew, I feel that I am closer to Jesus.  Here is a question, did Jesus speak Hebrew?  And why do you think so?
